Gammel loves Werbo's Honey!

Gammel the Hobgoblin; he just can't help but get carried away when he's Beekeeping — Werbo's Honey is just too good!

I painted this piece for a local Beekeeper (Werbo's Honey) to be used on a roller banner. I went straight in using digital media on this one (ClipStudio). I also used reference points from Leasowe Lighthouse, Wirral; as seen in the background.

Werbo's Honey:

Gammel and The Hungry Giant #1 - Flying Ships

Flying ships/boats! This was something that I had been pondering about, whilst working on vehicle designs for my recent Illustrated story; 'Gammel and the Hungry Giant'.

The image below are various design's that I sketched out using a biro pen for line and a Pentel brush pen for the larger shadows. It's safe to say that I spent my morning looking at the work of Ian McQue; his flying ship designs are insane! You can find a link to his work at the bottom of this post.

I jumped on to my Cintiq for some loose sketches, focusing mainly on simple design and shape. I wanted the cockpit to resemble the style of an old Norse home; sharp edges and angles.
